Our jib cranes are designed and manufactured to current ISO 9001:2008 standards to suit your individual requirements. The jib cranes are manufactured here in house at our Shrewsbury works so giving us the ability to produce cranes to our customers exact requirements.
Jib Cranes are designed to take the effort out of lifting and loading in confined spaces, and often take up very little floor space. They can be designed to span a radius and working height to suit your requirements. There are a number of different basic designs which can be engineered to operate in different applications. Any of our jib cranes variants have the option to be supplied with either electric chain hoists, wire rope hoists or manual hand chain blocks and trolleys to suit your requirements and budget.
Types of Jib Cranes:
Free Standing Pillar Jib- One of the most common types used in general workshop application, they require a suitable concrete floor foundation to be bolted down on to and the requirements for this will depends on the load being lifted and the radius of the jib arm.
Over-braced design- This type of arm has a triangular bracing above to support the horizontal beam and is used where headroom is not too restricted.
Under-braced design- This type of arm is usually used where the height or headroom is restricted in the crane location and some travel will be lost in-board of the arm due to the underbracing steel.
Articulating arm design- This type of arm has a knuckle joint in the middle of its length that works like an elbow joint, and is particularly manoeuvrable to get into tight locations. It does however, have limited load capacities due to design nature.
Wall/Column Mounted Jib- we can offer a range of wall mounted jib cranes in any of the above designs, with safe working loads (SWL) and arm lengths to suit your individual requirements. The advantage of this over a floor mounted crane is that the workshop floor is kept free from obstruction.
The wall mounted jibs can be fixed to a wall or to an existing RSJ (vertical column).
Warning: Always ensure that the structure to which you intend to fix the jib onto is capable of taking to potential loadings.
Jib Crane Installation- Not only an we supply your Jib Cranes but we also offer a UK-wide installation service which includes delivery to your works, supply of the required chemical resin anchors, full installation, testing and commissioning of the crane, and provision of relevant documentation and certification in accordance with current legislation.
We also offer fully tailored service and maintenance schemes to suit your crane requirements – not just on our own cranes but on all makes and models.
